It was just my little girl and I on Saturday. That normally means pancakes, swim class, a little time in the “SHOP!” and a little time “OUTSIDE!” (as she likes to yell). However she wasn’t feeling great so we had pancakes and watched “Masha and the Bear” for a little while. T hen she said “nap?”... Yes, I am one of those lucky parents who’s child not only naps regularly but requests them when she is tired (for now).
Knowing she would be out for 4-5 hours, I setup my mobile workshop out back so that I could cut all of the wood for the child sized workbench I’m building for her. I set up my inside shop for teeny tiny cars! So while I’m waiting for things like paint to strip, or dry I can be busy cutting wood.
First of all, paint stripper is nasty stuff. However, it works incredibly well! I was getting ready to order a bunch of “helping hands” via Amazon. Then I saw a box of alligator clips and looked around for something to mount them on. A few strokes with a dull knife down a dowel makes the perfect ghetto paint holders!
Anyway here are some pics. I’m waiting on a can of BMW 078 Jade Green before I can paint the 02, honestly I need a lot of paints. I also ordered some axles for 1:64 models off of of ebay. So I’m kind of at a stand still until I receive the axles and get more paints.
Can anyone hook ya boi up with authorship on LALD?
I used a non flammable paint stripper the first time around...it didn’t get everything I had to re dip the van and the Datsun
I also put up a new mailbox this weekend and it came with a silver flag. I wanted a red one.

Yea that was the first go around with the non-flammable stripper. Round 2 was with aircraft stripper.

Premium releases (metal base, rubber tires, etc.) like your particular Transit also have nicer paint with clearcoat, making them more difficult to strip.

The real Supervan was the first paint scheme released for the Hot Wheels Transit casting.

Unfortunately, the LaLD Kinja page is now half-dead. In the past year or two , the DriveTribe page way surpassed the viewership of the Kinja page, and the Herb debacle made most remaining Kinja users move to DT. Uly is still on though.

I am jealous that your daughter takes naps. No dice with either of mine.
